The Chant & Choral Arts Seminars/Russian Orthodox Church Musicians' Conferences are sponsored by the Synodal Musical Commission, and by the Russian Orthodox Church Musicians' Fund.
Russian Orthodox church musicians from across the North American continent, and even from around the world - singers, conductors, composers, amateurs and choral professionals of all backgrounds - gather annually for four days in October to celebrate one of the world's great repertoirs of sacred music. Rehearsals, lectures, workshops and master classes offer an enriching musical , cultural and religious experience addressing the interests of practicing musicians in the Orthodox Church. The conferences culminate in the participants singing at the Divine Services (Saturday evening Vigil and Sunday morning Liturgy). These recordings are not of performances, but rather of live worship services. They celebrate a gathering of people of various musical, vocal and choral ability and experience who have come together for a single purpose - to glorify God.
